This project involves a small three-bedroom residence. The occupants dislike the heaviness of French vintage style and the cloying sweetness of French cream style. Their ideal home embodies the warmth and richness found somewhere between latte and cappuccino tones. Rejecting excessive sweetness and outdated aesthetics, the design draws on the residents’ lifestyle and aesthetic preferences to break the established boundaries of defined design styles. It subtly blends laid-back casualness with elegant vintage elements, creating a sense of spatial openness through restrained design. The end result is a relaxing dwelling that is warm, spacious, and uniquely reflective of the residents’ temperament.

Benefiting from the unique riverside views facing south, we integrate the balcony into the overall layout of the living room, achieving dual extension in physical dimension and visual depth. Large glass windows act as transparent interfaces, gently ushering in natural light and river scenery and subtly blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors. Sunlight drifts slowly across floors and walls as time passes, while rippling reflections from the river permeate daily life. Lean back and soak up the warmth in the afternoon; watch the sunset gild the river surface at dusk. Instead of merely serving as a backdrop for life, the space becomes a realm coexisting with nature.

Light beige walls and dark brown woodwork form the main tone of the space, exuding warmth and tranquility. Curved surfaces soften the sharp edges of the structure, transforming the originally geometric mass into a gentle embracing feel. Sunlight filters through pleated sheer curtains, slowly casting impressions on the walls and leather textures to mark the passage of time. Rejecting contrived decorative narratives, the design focuses instead on shaping everyday scenes: a cup of coffee set aside, a comfortable spot to lean on, where the laid-back vibe of life unfolds naturally.

By utilizing the non-demolishable vertical pipe structure, we have reimagined it as a cat climbing frame that seamlessly integrates functionality with aesthetics. Aligning with cats 'innate climbing instincts, the staggered geometric patterns mitigate the abruptness of the pipe's original structure, while evoking a dynamic rhythm across the minimalist wall surface. This approach transforms the structural challenges into engaging interaction points between humans and cats, thereby creating a comfortable and playful shared space.

Dining chairs of varied materials are arranged around the round table in an asymmetrical layout. The natural simplicity of rattan, the delicate softness of leather, and the gentle comfort of fabric interact yet blend harmoniously, endowing the space with rich layers and visual appeal. A uniquely shaped white chandelier hangs overhead like an art sculpture, radiating warm and enchanting halos of light. As the warm light spills forth, the grain of wood and the aged texture of objects are gradually brought to life, gently enveloping this space. Warmth spreads along the textures, erasing the physical boundaries between materials, leaving only flowing light and shadow and pleasant tactile sensations. A serene, understatedly sophisticated aura emanates from the tranquility.

The sideboard and arch structure overlap and coexist. The dark wood cabinetry appears to grow naturally out of the arch, subtly integrating storage logic into the spatial narrative. The countertop extends smoothly, echoing the geometric rhythm of the arch with soft curved lines. While expanding the functional workspace, it shapes a dynamically interwoven relationship of volumetric forms. The arch is not merely a simple spatial divider, but carries multiple meanings and functions, enabling a relaxed and comfortable feeling with every turn. Looking through the archway, an open study unfolds on the other side. The transparent layout blurs the boundaries between spaces, enabling a natural transition between the lively atmosphere of the living and dining area and the tranquility of the study.

The study connects to the terrace. Glancing up, one can see the slowly flowing river outside the window. Mild river breezes drift indoors, dispelling weariness from long hours at the desk and imbuing reading and work with natural poetry. There is no need to deliberately frame scenery, for nature is inherently the foundation of this space. This place invites deep contemplation and allows quiet emptiness. It carves out a tranquil retreat above the hustle and bustle of the world, letting the gaze drift past the window lattice and rest upon distant mountains.

The living-dining room, study, and dry area of the guest bathroom are naturally integrated as functional zones, separated yet connected, creating a transparent and well-organized layout. Arches run through the space in an elegant and dynamic manner, blending the romance of French style with the sleek minimalism of modern design. The dry area of the guest bathroom is seamlessly incorporated into the sideboard unit. Adopting consistent material finishes softens the rigid dividing lines between functional areas. Fresh and lively green-and-white checkered tiles infuse vitality and playfulness into the space, enabling people to enjoy peace and relaxation every time they wash up.

The bedroom embraces minimalism, with everything presented in its purest form. Soft walls complement warm wood tones, laying a natural and tranquil foundation for the space. Moonlight filters through gaps in the curtains, casting dappled light and shadow. Sinking into the soft bed, weariness fades away quietly, and thoughts drift slowly into the distance along with the night. The floating washstand lends the space a light visual quality. The three-part separated layout reshapes the usage logic, enabling each zone to be independent yet interconnected, and meeting dual demands for privacy and convenience.

In the bedroom, pure and soft tones unfold, complementing the minimalist furnishings. Stripped of unnecessary formalism, every detail is perfectly balanced, revealing the authentic texture of life amid simple elegance.
