Mary Little is a sculptor based in Los Angeles, California. Working exclusively in unbleached cotton canvas, she creates sculptural forms with the material, cutting and sewing it into soft, curved reliefs that hold structure and play with light and shadow. The forms sit in the space between painting, sculpture, and textile, built through repetition and a self-imposed system of pattern, seam, and proportion that gives her work its quiet rhythm.

Little trained at London's Royal College of Art and later taught at California College of the Arts. Her career began in furniture design, where her pieces were already distinguished by sculptural clarity and emotional weight. In 2015 Little stepped away from function to focus purely on form making. What stayed was the material. What deepened was the method: modernist in its discipline, meditative in its repetition. She is guided by a desire to find feeling in restraint and her instinct for how an object shapes the presence of a room.

Her work has been shown at the Craft Contemporary Museum and Craft in America Center in Los Angeles, and is held in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), the Vitra Design Museum (Basel), and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris). In 2019 she received the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.
